I hopped on a plane and flew to Denmark for 2 days. I like to move fast. I walk quick and felt that 2 days would be enough. However, I didn't expect to fall in love with the city.
To me, it's perfect. There's a great vibe. The water is so calming. People are so nice. And they are beautiful humans. Quite the genes out there.
Just a backpack and my camera, I headed out to explore the city. My girlfriend told me that they were known for their waffle cones. Never one to shy away from a waffle cone, my first "meal" was ice cream. Not a bad way to start my day.
I was also told that they were known for their kanelsnegle. Basically, cinnamon rolls. And again, I would never shy away from a cinnamon roll, so there I was. Just a lone man, sitting on a stool, eating a cinnamon roll. God bless Amer...Denmark.
I took a nap and had plans to see the city at night, and of course just my luck, a big storm hit. I managed to go out for a few minutes in time to see everyone caught in the downpour.
The next day I did a tiny bit of research and saw they had something there called the Cisternerne. Basically, it is their old underground water reservoir and now that it's empty, they allow art installations. So I headed over to the park it is in and went under the Earth.
The next day was spent with more walking, lots of coffee, and heading back to the water to catch the sunset.
There is a changing of a guard they do every day in front of the castle. But sadly, I wasn't going to have enough time to see it take place. Luckily, as I was walking to the train to head to the airport, I ran into the guards in the middle of the street.
I can't say enough nice things about this city. I was sad to leave. If I could, I would move there tomorrow. But I can't do that yet. Got more Earth to discover.
